A memorable outing for those with adventurous tastes, this Timberline Tours rafting and whiskey tasting trip mingles river excitement with local flavor. Perfect for birthdays, special occasions, and gatherings with family or friends, this afternoon journey includes rafting on the iconic Colorado River followed by a whiskey tasting and tour at 10th Mountain Whiskey and Spirit Company’s distillery in Gypsum, Colorado.
For the rafting portion of the trip, guests may choose from among two Colorado River rafting options: the Shoshone Double Thriller (Class III – intermediate intensity) or the Upper Colorado River (Class II – scenic, splashy float). Although this trip is limited to a minimum of six guests, age 21 and older, guests can pick the one river section that fits the group’s ability level and adventure preference.
COLORADO RIVER RAFTING OPTION #1: The Shoshone Double Thriller takes guests through Shoshone’s one-mile stretch of Class III rapids two times. If you’re looking for a bit more intensity before your whiskey tasting and tour, the Double Thriller will deliver. Our guides make sure this trip is filled with excitement by running the rapids differently each time, so you can try going through backwards or even spinning in a circle.
COLORADO RIVER RAFTING OPTION #2: If your crew prefers to have more of a relaxing, scenic float trip, then choose the Upper Colorado River, where you will experience some splashy whitewater rapids, wildlife sightings, and stunning mountain views before setting off to 10th Mountain Spirit and Company’s distillery for your tasting and tour.
Following the rafting portion of the trip, you’ll be transported to the nearby 10th Mountain Whiskey and Company’s distillery in Gypsum, Colorado, where you’ll have some time to sip and socialize with your crew outside in the fresh, mountain air or inside at its cozy tasting room.
Guests will also be taken on a guided tour of the facility, where you’ll learn more about how this local, small-batch distillery crafts its spirits. Plus, you’ll no doubt learn more about the adventurous 10th Mountain Division soldiers who fought in World War II and for whom this company tributes with its name.
The 10th Mountain Whiskey and Spirit Company is an extension of the mountain lifestyle, bringing together the old with the new. On this unique rafting and whiskey tasting trip, you’ll experience local history and take lasting memories home with you.
