Mike Reid
Mike grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University.  Mike played baseball and soccer at South Mountain Community College.  After spending a few years as an archeologist, Mike made his move to Vail in 1995.  Mike started ‘Behind the 8-Ball’ in 2001.  Mike is a professional raft guide in the summers, navigating rivers in Colorado and West Virginia since 1995.  In the winter, Mike is the Product Manager for the 3-6 year old program at Beaver Creek Ski School.

Chris (Mongo) Reeder
Chris has been guiding rivers throughout the United States since 1987.  Most often -found on Class IV and V  rivers, Mongo is truly at home on the technically challenging rivers of Colorado.  He has half a dozen first rafting descents of stretches with names like “Meat Grinder”, “Supermax”, and “Upper Death”. In 2004 Mongo was one of eight guides profiled by Paddler magazine and voted one of the top 10 toughest athletes in the Vail Valley. During his “free time” from rafting and working with Vail Ski Patrol in the winter, Mongo began his own business, Mongo Products.  With items such as the famous Mongo Rescue Harness and the Guide Fishing Vest, Mongo Products has been creating rugged rescue and technical equipment for the adventure sports community since 1990.

Todd Toledo
Todd was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. Following high school, he enrolled in junior college to play baseball until his career was sidelined by injury. Todd then spent two years at Regis University in Denver, Colorado before he decided to escape the city and enjoy life in the mountains.  With a passion for flyfishing .and whitewater rafting, Todd soon began guiding, and within a few years he was able to purchase a rafting company of his own.  As Todd’s involvement in whitewater industry grew he began to race rafts and guide teams in local competitions. In 2001, pushed by the desire to be part of a dedicated race team, Todd joined ‘Behind the 8-Ball’ and is now working to make the team the best the USA has ever produced.

Chip Carney
Chip is originally form Cincinnati, Ohio.  He moved to .Colorado in 1990 to pursue his love of the outdoors.  He has been a river guide in Colorado since 1980 and is a .class V guide as well.  He has also paddled rivers in Arizona, California, Wyoming, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Ecuador, Czech Republic and Costa Rica. Chip is now a full-time firefighter for the Eagle River Fire Protection District in Avon, Colorado.

Ollie Dose
A native German, Olli has explored rivers throughout the world. Argentina, Austria, Costa Rica, France, Honduras, Norway, Peru, Chile and the United States have all been stops on a whitewater career spanning two decades. A skilled kayaker, he made the first descent of the Rio Cuao in Venezuela and the Rio Subterrano in Nicaragua, and was a member of the German National Kayak Rodeo Team. For the last three years, Olli has been busy with Blue Snake Travel, a rafting and kayaking company on the big water of the Rio Futaleufu in Southern Chile.

Brent Redden
Brent grew up in Austin Texas and moved to Colorado in 1999. He was a Raft guide for 5 years; working on Clear Creek, theArkansas, and Colorado Rivers. Brent has been Kayaking since 2000 and was a safety kayaker on Clear Creek in 03. He started competing in kayaking since 2003 with a first place finish in 2004 in the Teva down-river race, and a third place finish in the 2005 gore Canyon down-river race. He's kayaked all over the U.S. Brent spends winters skiing everyday as a Beaver Creek Ski Patroller. The summers are spent running a chain saw for Beaver Creek ski area as well as safety kayaking for the local rafting operation.
